I’m Mike. I spent years building infrastructure - Linux systems, cloud architectures, the kind of work where you learn that every system has a logic, and that logic usually isn’t what the documentation says it is.

Somewhere along the way I started applying that same thinking to political discourse. Not because I stopped caring about technology, but because I noticed something frustrating: most of what passes for journalism isn’t designed to make you think or investigate. It’s designed to make you angry. It invokes emotion instead of evidence, names enemies instead of making arguments, and rarely shows its receipts. The subversion, if there is any, comes from refusing to accept that as acceptable discourse.

This blog is where I write about that intersection - where systems thinking meets political media, where the promise of public discourse collides with the reality of outrage engines designed to prioritize engagement over understanding. I demand evidence. I dismiss emotional appeals dressed up as arguments. And I try to show my work so others can critique it.

That’s the standard.
